I'm Jeannie, mother of Sarah & Lisa (Putulik 9/30/89-4/16/90 & Paulossie adt) granma of Samuel Eleeseetook & Quentin Putulik. I luv my family, they come 1st burnt out once from work. born & raised in Kuujjuaraapik, Whapmagoostui in Cree.

I'm daughter of Eva & Charlie. My dad had alzheimer's, sense of humor & contagious laughter. Eva was born in igloo, raised in igloo & tent. Mom was from Inukjuak, dad from Kuujjuaq both relocated by gov't. My inlaws were Paulossie & Nellie. my siblings; Malaya, Dinah, Thomassie, Davidee, me, Mary, Malaya, Parsa, Caroline, Noah. Sam's siblings; Alice, Dora, sam, Moses, Nellie, Josie, Joewillie, Daniel, Okoya, Sally.

I am aunt 2 all I love. U all came 4 a purpose, Stay in School, take advantage of it.

Sports
I don't compete. I luv riding & for fun.. badminton, swimming. Do have family & friends who play sports. My daughter Sarah is good at arctic winter games. Sports... best of the best was my best friend, Alice Esperon, GGG (r.i.p). No one couldnt beat her, not one.

For all those who play sports, its not about winning or losing, it's all about having fun. Keeps you healthy & well.

with my family & friends, luv 2 laugh, taking photographs, long rides & feeling the wind, having fun, writing, reading a good book, being on the land, beach, sea, mountains, looking at sunset, northern lights & stars, its never the same one (when i was growing up its where i felt safe on the land, still loving it), dancing with friends, listening to Inuit legends, traveling seeing places, meeting people, swimming & a vacation. learning & accomplishments. challenges turn into opportunities, I love when I feel goosebumbs, warm happy feeling

      making supper, almost done. quote reminded me of my dad, who used to tell me saying mind is powerful but words coming from the heart is more powerful. thought I share. I am learning to let live and let go, works. I cried abit, just realizing some moments. I surprise myself at times, laugh at myself.

      my granson knows his colors now, he is able to say name of the color he sees and he is two years old, he was able to have four to five words sentence before his hand and arm was burnt, he is getting better and well. jn

    • been busy past two weeks and more


      So much to be grateful for.. I feel at peace with being where I am, when I couldnt wait to get otta Umiujaq. I spoke to few elders about it and was told to find peace and resolve my issue. Alot of good stuff started happening. girls, my neices just came in for a bit, Sam made attached string and sewed their mitts to their coats, girls were proud and kpt smiling and asked my uncle can sew too? One asked if her uncle can sew mitts smaller. anyway I was saying things started happening. I realized how getting feedback helps me. I started gathering my transcripts too. Been busy lately. My nieces were seen by specialist and I am happy to get news about how each of my nieces here with me doing. All I want is, to see my daughters, grandchildren and neices have a better life, voice their feelings and thoughts, stand tall, be happy, not rush into things, be leaders, live life, respect and be responsible ppl, constributing to communities. Am I being realistic? one day at the time, all of them may not be what I want to see, that I know but I am going to be here for them. Reminding myself too to take care of me, foremost. One day at the time. jn

    • Come along way


      I have been doing paper work and shopping around for University to take courses perhaps for winter, spring, summer or fall semester next year. So many thing to be grateful for, new day :D I am alive :D so is each of my love ones :S Been talking with some of elders where I am. I did not vote for anyone here for a mayor, being stupor I guess, no.. being stupor, doesnt mean I am against anyone, canidates, all had good intention to want to be elected. Three elders I talked with all told me to work on my issue, since then I feel I have no inner conflicts for being residence of Umiujaq. I am glad to be here, where I am at this moment, my life is better than before. Been having tears, gentle tears. Part of my vision is being in work and I am happy and grateful for it, to have a better future for children and families.I thought of how I saw my life.. now.. boring without chaois, learning to live and accept as is without violence. Good to have personal vision for the community and world.

      ohh looking forward for arobics and workout when it begins here in Umiujaq, need it for my physical care. jn

      p.s, had goosebumps when I heard pita adamie and my counsin, qailak napaluk about going to france and meeting professor. I am glad to be Inuk and having heritage, distinct culture, and language of our own. Our ancestors strive to survived so we could live and helped nininuit to survive, made outdoor warm clothing, food and welcomed noninuit and sheltered noninuit and took noninuit to where noninuit wanted to go whether by kayak, dogsled or by foot. thank many to be grateful for. jn
